Its speed of up to 2,750 rotations per minute makes this best suited for driving lag bolts, working on drywalls, metal fabrications, or woodworking.

It is also perfect for those home repair and improvement jobs like mounting that TV or installing CCTV cameras. It is perfect for just about any project that will require repetitive screwing and fastening even for long periods.

This tool’s four-pole frameless motor adds to its high performance. Working with less friction and resistance means longer run time and longer tool life.

Milwaukee’s proprietary advanced technology called the REDLINK Intelligence protects the motor from overheating and overloading from intense working situations. This is a great safety feature that you would surely appreciate.

Ergonomic Design

The 2656-20 is ergonomically designed to be compact and lightweight, making it ideal for working in tight or cramped spaces. Even those difficult and awkward angles are easy to work on with this easy to maneuver impact driver.

Weighing just 3.1 pounds and measuring 5-1/2 inches, its small size will not cause strain on your arms, hands, or wrists when used double time.

Another convenient feature is the built-in LED light that illuminates your work area for excellent visibility. This translates in easy maneuverability especially in confined spaces and low-lit work areas. This eliminates the need to have a flashlight with you that takes up space in your toolbox.

Its ¼-inch hex quick connect chuck lets you replace bits easily and quickly with just one hand. This feature proves to be very convenient when you are on top of a ladder or when working on overhead spaces.

Battery and Other Features

This tool uses an 18V M18 lithium ion battery that you can also use on other Milwaukee power tools within the same category. This is a good buy for those who already own other M18 tools. The battery is also slim and compact and adds barely to the tool’s light weight.

The tool is equipped with a battery fuel gauge that lets you know how much life is left in your battery. You can easily manage and plan your work sessions or charge another battery if you have one. However, this would be something you can overlook as two batteries have enough juice to let you build a medium-sized cabinet.

The tool comes with Milwaukee’s trademark impact mechanism technology. It gives you increased performance and higher job efficiency with very little to no operator fatigue. With the tool’s 3,450 impacts per minute, this is a welcome feature if you plan to use it every day.

Milwaukee’s five-year limited warranty covers your purchase of this impact driver. You are assured of a product that is free from manufacturer defects. You are certainly getting an excellent product with a quality assurance guarantee that gives you peace of mind.

Comparison to Milwaukee 2753-20

The Milwaukee 2753-20 has noticeably more of everything if placed side by side with the 2656-20. It has a max torque of 1,800 versus the 1,500 of the latter.  It also speeds up to 3,700 RPM compared to 2,750. Even when we look at the price, the 2753-20 has upped the 2656-20.

Both these impact drivers can easily handle heavy duty tasks, but if you want more power and speed, then the 2753-20 is a good choice. If you want a less expensive version, go for the 2656-20.
