Dewalt has been an industry staple for decades now, and they have gained a reputation for manufacturing decent lines of tools. It is not that hard to understand why they have a huge following and some avid fans that stay brand loyal. Their tools are durable and high performing, and they offer warranty even if they can stand by the quality of their products.
Dewalt has come up with different combo kits that you can choose from, and here are four of their compact drill kits and how they stack up against each other.

There are some complaints about this drill being heavy, but that is what makes this ideal for professionals as it can easily tackle tough hammer jobs.

All these power drills use the brushless motor technology except for the DCD771C2. Most professionals prefer tools that use brushless motors because of the longer runtime they provide. Among the four items listed above, the DCD771C2 also has the least UWO rating but can do most home improvement or DIY jobs.
The DCD796D2 is the only one that has a hammer drill feature and is made for tougher jobs. It also is the highest priced among the four, at $219.00. Weighing 8.05 pounds, this is also one of Dewalt’s heaviest hammer drills, but this is actually a plus rather than a flaw. Heavy duty jobs need power and weight which would be harder to complete with lightweight and smaller sized drills.
If you are on a tight budget and want to have a drill to use for everyday drilling and driving jobs around the house, then the DCD777C2 is your solid bet. At only around $100, it delivers 340 UWO of power, better than the DCD771C2 which can only provide you with 300 UWO. The DCD771C2 also costs more at around $130.
If you were a contractor, woodworker, electrician, or construction worker, you would want to have the DCD796D2 because of its hammer drill feature. At under $220, it is money well spent as it has all the features that you need for your medium to heavy-duty tasks.
If you want high power in your drill, then the DCD791D2 is your best bet. It does not have a hammer drill feature like the DCD796D2, but it has the same 460 UWO of maximum power. Just the right compact drill for your home or DIY projects.
